ATLANTA, July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s (TBS, Inc.) Business Development group has added Kris Nielsen-Refs and Harold Goings as directors to its staff. Both are charged with identifying and developing new business opportunities across wide-ranging consumer platforms. Both are based in Atlanta, with Nielsen-Refs reporting to Tamara Franklin, vice president of business development for TBS, Inc.; and Goings reporting to Jeremy Legg, vice president of business development for TBS, Inc. Nielsen-Refs joins TBS, Inc. from his position as account manager for Turner Broadcasting System Europe Limited, where he was responsible for developing Turner's fast-growing and strategic wireless content activities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this capacity, Nielsen-Refs led the roll-out of Turner's channels in the mobile TV space and was a co- contributor to the formulation and implementation of Turner's platform- agnostic on-deck, handset preload and direct-to-consumer strategy for branded environments on wireless. Earlier, Nielsen-Refs was account executive for Turner Broadcasting System Europe Limited and developed key licensing and marketing partnerships with major international hotel chains and healthcare providers across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He also developed key LAN/VPN-based licensing partnerships with financial institutions and other blue chips in the UK. Nielsen-Refs earned an Extra Mural Diploma in management from the University of London's Birkbeck College. Previously, Goings served as senior manager of business development for Yahoo! Media Group, where he led content acquisition efforts for the new Lifestyles initiative. In his role, Goings developed and negotiated strategic content and technology partnerships with firms ranging from global media companies, entertainment and literary talent, leading medical institutions and leading CPGs. Prior to his position as senior manager of business development, Goings was business development manager for Yahoo! Media Group, developing strategic partnerships for Yahoo! Health, News and Youth. Goings earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in managerial economics from Hampden-Sydney College and an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.
