ATMI Names Patrick J. Shima Chief Legal Officer

ATMI, Inc.(Nasdaq:ATMI), a global technology company, announced
today that its current Deputy Chief Legal Officer, Patrick J.
Shima, will assume the role of Senior Vice President and Chief
Legal Officer.
Originally hired by ATMI in 2007 for the role of Transaction and
Finance Counsel, Shima was later promoted to Deputy Chief Legal
Officer in 2008. Since joining ATMI, Shima has had the opportunity
to offer counsel on many critical ATMI business transactions. He
will now provide oversight to, and be responsible for leading the
company's entire legal function.
"Pat is an important and valued member of the senior team at
ATMI," said Doug Neugold, Chief Executive Officer. "He has been
intimately involved in many of the key transactions that are
shaping the future of ATMI, and this promotion is recognition of
his contributions and growth as a leader."
Prior to joining ATMI, Shima spent six years as an attorney at
IBM in positions of increasing responsibility. Before those
responsibilities, he worked for Major League Soccer as Legal
Counsel and as an associate at two New York law firms. Shima has a
bachelor of arts in economics from Georgetown University and earned
his JD from The George Washington University National Law
Center.
