Cadmus Communications Names Peter R. Hanson Chief Operating Officer of Its Publisher Services Group

RICHMOND, Va., April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cadmus
Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:CDMS) today named Peter R.
Hanson as Chief Operating Officer of Cadmus' Publisher Services
Group, an approximately $350 million segment of Cadmus providing
full service content processing, printing, and distribution
services to scholarly, special interest, and book publishers. In
this role, Mr. Hanson will have day-to-day operational
responsibility for Cadmus' content and publications print
operations in the United States, India, and Asia and will report to
Bruce V. Thomas, Cadmus' President and Chief Executive Officer and
Acting President of the Publisher Services Group. "Peter is an
experienced executive with vast knowledge of our markets," said Mr.
Thomas. "Peter has spent his entire career serving the publications
market and will bring a very high level of operational experience
and expertise to Cadmus. Particularly as we move toward completion
of the comprehensive upgrade of our North American print platform,
Peter will help us obtain maximum benefit from our new and much
more efficient manufacturing capabilities. I am confident that he

both customers and associates." Mr. Hanson, who served most
recently as President of Banta Corporation's Publication Group,
began his career at Combined Communications Service, where he
served in various service and sales roles. In 1990, he joined Banta
Corporation as a Regional Vice President of Sales in the
Publication Group, was promoted to Group Vice President of Sales
& Marketing, and finally was named President of the Publication
Group in 2000. During his tenure as President, the Banta
Publications Group achieved rapid growth and generated
industry-leading margins, despite often difficult market
conditions. Also during that time, Mr. Hanson successfully led
several significant plant expansions and oversaw numerous and
highly successful capital additions and equipment upgrades to
Banta's publication print, distribution, and pre-press platforms.
Mr. Hanson received a Bachelor of Science from the University of
Illinois and currently resides in Chicago. He will be relocating
and operate out of Cadmus' corporate headquarters in Richmond,
