FusionOne (www.fusionone.com), the leading provider of mobile phone content portability services, today announced partnerships with Glu for the companys Handset Transfer Solution.

With FusionOnes Handset Transfer Solution, Glu subscribers can now seamlessly move licensed game content from one mobile device to another.

The Handset Transfer Solution, the only comprehensive service of its kind that includes the transfer of licensed content, enables mobile carriers to maintain and grow revenue streams derived from content sales by ensuring that when customers get a new phone, their purchased content is transferred to the new handset, regardless of whether they purchased the phone at a store or online.

Content providers can preserve and extend existing relationships with their subscribers regardless of a subscribers mobile device, and subscribers will no longer be inconvenienced by having to remember, re-discover, and re-subscribe to their favorite mobile games and other licensed content from their old phone.

We are pleased to offer FusionOnes Handset Transfer Solution to help maintain our customer loyalty, said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu. Transferring existing content can also strengthen our customer relationships by recommending new content based on their past purchase history.

According to industry research, only thirteen percent (13%) of mobile subscribers re-purchase their phone content after getting a new phone. A recent survey of 4,000 mobile users by independent research house Coleman Parkes revealed that more than three quarters (78%) of them are concerned about losing mobile content when upgrading their handsets. Ninety-six percent (96%) saw value in a service that could automatically transfer content, such as mobile games, from an old phone to a new one.

Gaming has become an increasingly important part of the overall mobile experience, said Mohan Sadashiva, senior vice president of marketing forFusionOne. We want subscribers to be able to take their favorite games with them when they get new phones and continue to enjoy their mobile gaming uninterrupted.

Last month, during the GSMA Mobile World Congress, FusionOne announced partnerships with Zed and RealGames. To date, FusionOne has partnered with more than 50 content providers that offer mobile games and other mobile applications.
