learning company Houghton Mifflin Harcourt today announced the
appointment of Martin Davy to the
newly-created role of Chief Platform Architect and Executive Vice
President of Engineering. Reporting directly to HMH CEO
Linda Zecher, Davy will be
responsible for all platform development, and will provide
engineering leadership throughout the organization.
With millions of users across HMH's digital platforms, Davy and
team will partner with the Company's product development studios
and Technology Group to deliver world class education content and
applications to today's students, families, educators and lifelong
learners.

With a proven track record in building, scaling and leading
high-caliber agile development teams, from start-ups to enterprise
scale worldwide, Davy brings more than 20 years of experience in
the design, development and delivery of class-leading distributed
applications. This expertise will enable HMH to further leverage
technology to connect with customers around the world.

Prior to joining HMH, Davy was Vice President of Worldwide
Product Engineering for the software company Pegasystems, where he
led the engineering and development operations aspects of the Pega
platform, partnering with the head of Product and the head of Cloud
Operations. Previously Davy held a variety of technology leadership
roles, including Senior Vice President for Fidelity Investments'
Asset Management division, where he was responsible for all
software engineering activities within the Trading and Common
Engineering divisions across five locations in the US, India and Ireland.
Davy holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and a
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of
Kent in Canterbury, England.
