MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: MONE), a leading provider of collaborative
product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value
chain(TM), today announced that it received high marks in seven
categories, including the top score for "ease of integration," in
Apparel magazine's Software Scorecard. With this inaugural special
report, Apparel delivers rankings of key software vendors that are
active in the apparel market to help raise companies' awareness of
vendors that are serving the apparel marketplace. Released in the
May issue of Apparel, the ranking includes 38 software vendors who
qualified to be listed. In addition to being ranked number one for
ease of integration, MatrixOne also made the top 10 list in the
following categories: strategic value; ease of upgrading; ease of
administration/maintenance; user friendliness; design and product
development functionality; and long-term vision. "This is an
industry with a very unique set of business challenges and
companies such as MatrixOne have a track record of delivering
apparel-specific business solutions to this market," said Kathleen
DesMarteau, editor-in-chief of Apparel. "The Software Scorecard
rankings came straight from those companies who are experienced in
working with apparel software vendors, so the results are a huge
testament to the excellence that MatrixOne has delivered with its
apparel accelerator." The MatrixOne Accelerator for Apparel Design
and Development(TM) is a comprehensive, commercially available
solution that provides apparel industry data models and schema,
pre-defined work processes and reports, as well as role-based user

performance and the flexibility to keep pace with the
ever-quickening pace of business. The MatrixOne apparel industry

standardization, collaboration and access control across the
extended enterprise. In addition, capabilities for product design
and planning, product costing and strategic sourcing are included
to encompass all aspects of the apparel design, development and
production lifecycle. "In order to respond to market pressures such
as increased global competition, shrinking product lifecycles, and
customers' ever-changing seasonal demands, apparel companies need a
PLM environment that will get them up and running quickly," said
Kurt Andersen, vice president of industry solutions for MatrixOne.
"We're especially proud of our number one ranking for ease of
integration because bringing together many business-critical
software systems is typically a daunting task. With the MatrixOne
Accelerator for Apparel Design and Development, our customers are
able to rapidly implement a PLM solution that generates real
business value." About Apparel's Software Scorecard Apparel
magazine's Software Scorecard is the first software ranking
providing a head-to-head comparison of the top software vendors
specific to the apparel/retail industry. Based on votes from
executives responsible for IT decisions, the Scorecard ranks
vendors on a combination of Customer Satisfaction and Breadth and
Scope of Apparel Solutions and Business, with Customer Satisfaction
weighted at 60 percent. The 12 key metrics that executives evaluate
as part of Customer Satisfaction are: 1) overall performance, 2)
understanding of apparel-specific business issues, 3) ROI, 4)
strategic value, 5) ease of upgrading, 6) ease of installation, 7)
ease of integration, 8) ease of administration/maintenance, 9)
quality of support, 10) quality of service, 11) user friendliness
and 12) long-term vision. A vendor's final ranking on Apparel's
