ADRs End Mostly Lower; Embraer, Valneva Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed mostly lower on
Thursday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts
ticked down 0.2% to 149.23. The European index fell 0.6% to 149.34.
The Asian index edged up 0.3% to 163.96. The Latin American index
declined 0.5% to 179.74, and the emerging-markets index climbed
0.6% to 272.26.
Embraer SA was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The Brazilian aerospace company declined 9% after its loss grew
in the first quarter due to an increase in capital spending, which
more than doubled, and spending on research and development
rose.
French pharmaceutical company Valneva jumped 22% after it
reported first-quarter results that beat expectations, with revenue
growth driven by sales of its vaccines Ixiaro and Dukoral.
