Until December 2004, the Company operated in four segments: Wireline Communications, Secure Mobile Solutions, Automotive and Industrial and Memory Products. Beginning January 1, 2005, The Wireline Communications segment and the Mobile business were combined into the new Communication segment. The security and chip card activities and the application-specific semiconductor (ASIC) and Design Solutions business were integrated into the extended Automotive, Industrial and Multimarket segment.
