Midas International Corporation, one of the world’s largest
automotive service providers, and its Chicago-land Midas dealers
are supporting the welfare of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan
with the sponsorship of Operation Support Our Troops – America.
Local Midas franchisees will join the Chicago-based veteran support
organization to kick off the annual Rockin’ for the Troops
fundraising concert on Saturday, July 16 at Contigny Park in
Wheaton, Ill.
The 2011 Rockin’ for the Troops event, to be headlined by
award-winning actor Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band, will benefit
military members and their families by raising funds to ship
thousands of care packages to active and wounded soldiers stationed
in the U.S. and overseas.
“Participating in Rockin’ for the Troops is an honor for the Lt.
Dan Band,” said Sinise, a Chicago native and the voice of Midas’
current radio commercials. “The support of America’s brave men and
women who fight for us every day is something near and dear to my
heart, and it’s great to have an organization like Midas committed
to the cause.”
The fundraising concert attracts more than 12,000 annual
attendees and has helped Operation Support Our Troops – America
send upwards of 15,000 pounds of comfort items to troops throughout
the past eight years. Midas will host members of the Illinois
Fallen Service for a private dinner prior to the concert.
