M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank Selects Advanced Financial
Solutions to Offer Distributed Capture Software MILWAUKEE, Oct. 18
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank
(M&I) has partnered with Advanced Financial Solutions (AFS) to
market a Distributed Capture solution, which allows for check image
capture and electronic deposit of remittances. Within the
Distributed Capture suite of products, M&I will offer merchant
capture to commercial clients. Merchant Capture will include a
small desktop scanner linked to a PC running image capture software
at the customer's location, most likely in a back office. Customers
will be able to capture front and back check images, along with
MICR information. The check deposit information will be keyed,
balanced and verified to confirm that the total amount scanned
matches the expected deposit amount. Image quality assessment
software is utilized to verify the quality and usability of the
images created prior to the customer transmitting the images and
data electronically to a centralized location where additional
quality checks and verifications will be performed. "We are very
excited to offer this new technology to our corporate customers,"
said Gina A. Peter, senior vice president, M&I Marshall &
Ilsley Bank. "Companies and banks that adopt Distributed Capture
technology will benefit from improved collection speed and reduced
courier costs," added Peter. "Customers will also have more
flexibility in how frequently they deposit items and will enjoy an
extended processing window that allows them to make deposits later
in the day." About M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank M&I
