Highlights net.com's Commitment to the Carrier Market FREMONT,
Calif., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- net.com (NYSE:NWK)
announced today that it has achieved TL 9000 quality system
certification from the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of
Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. net.com is now among an elite
group of telecommunications companies to have met the rigorous
standards for TL 9000 registration. TL 9000 registration will apply
to the processes used to produce net.com's SCREAM service delivery
platform, a next generation broadband remote access server (BRAS)
designed to provide the advanced quality of service (QoS) required
for delivering a "triple play" of voice, video and data services
over DSL networks. SCREAM also provides the subscriber management
functionality required for basic broadband Internet access. TL 9000
is the telecommunication industry's quality system standard that
expands the requirements of the International Standards
Organization's ISO 9000 quality management system in use by
industries worldwide. The TL 9000 standard was developed and is
administered by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of
Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. TL 9000 is the world's first
industry-specific standard to define requirements for quality
management systems and provide members with a set of
performance-based measurements used in determining "best in class"
performance rankings for products and services. net.com joins the
ranks of industry leaders including Alcatel, Cisco, Lucent, Nortel
Networks and many other global organizations with TL 9000
registration. SGS S&SC Lead Auditor Steve Zakrzewski commented
on the net.com Quality Management System during the Closing Meeting
of the audit: "net.com has formally managed their quality system to
the requirements of the internationally recognized ISO 9000 series
of standards for close to a decade now. net.com's now proven
conformance to the additional specific telecommunications
requirements represented by TL 9000 serve as not only a further
guarantee of consistent quality, reliability, and service to its
customer base, but provide a source of information, via the TL 9000
Measurements Requirements, for baseline comparison and improvement
for the marketplace it serves. The system in place is well-planned,
innovative, effective, and efficient. net.com is to be commended on
its dedication to the spirit of both ISO 9001:2000 and TL 9000
requirements." "We're extremely proud of this honor. TL 9000
certification is proof that our entire organization is committed to
sustaining the highest levels of performance in the industry and
continuous improvement at all levels," said Bert Whyte, President
