Pope & Talbot, Inc. (NYSE:POP) has announced a $20 price
increase to its customers in all markets effective September 1st
until further notice. The new prices will be $770 in the North
American market and $730 in Europe for its northern bleached
softwood (NBSK) grades. Pope & Talbot is a pulp and wood
products business. The Company is based in Portland, Oregon and
traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol POP. Pope
& Talbot was founded in 1849 and produces market pulp and
softwood lumber at mills in the U.S. and Canada. Markets for the
Company's products include the U.S., Europe, Canada, South America
