The Salomon Brothers Fund Inc Announces Adjournment of Special Meeting of Shareholders

The Salomon Brothers Fund Inc which is traded on the New York Stock
Exchange under the symbol "SBF" announced today that it has
adjourned to November 29, 2005 its Special Meeting of Shareholders
to provide shareholders an additional opportunity to vote in light
of the Fund's announcement earlier today regarding its conversion
from a closed-end fund to an open-end fund. The conversion proposal
is subject to shareholder approval at a subsequent meeting and is
conditioned upon shareholder approval of the new management
agreement at the Special Meeting. The November 29 meeting will be
held at 399 Park Avenue, 12th Floor Auditorium, New York, New York
10022 at 3:00 p.m. (New York time). The record date for the Special
Meeting remains August 22, 2005. The Salomon Brothers Fund Inc, a
