Fixed-income investment manager Pimco said Monday Erin Browne has been hired as managing director and portfolio manager for the firm.

Ms. Browne most recently led asset allocation for UBS Asset Management, Pimco said. Before that, she headed macro investments at UBS O'Connor.

The company said Ms. Browne will focus on asset allocation and work with senior members of the asset-allocation team and recent hires in portfolio management.

Pimco said they have hired over 700 new employees in the last two years, including more than 150 investment professionals.
