Corridor Communications Corp. Receives 10-Year Cable TV Franchise
Agreement to be the Exclusive Service Provider to Over 1300 Homes
in Eagar, Arizona MESA, Ariz., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Corridor Communications Corp. (CORR.OB) announced today that they
have been awarded by the Eagar, Arizona City Council a ten year
Franchise extension to be the exclusive Cable TV provider to over
1300 households. In the recent Corridor acquisition of Eagle West
Communications Inc., Eagar was part of 27 Cable TV franchises
purchased. During transfer of the rights negotiations with the city
of Eagar, Corridor's cable TV subsidiary, Eagle West Communications
was successful in achieving the 10-year extension. As part of the
company's overall strategy of adding a broadband wireless overlay
to its rural cable operations, extending this franchise agreement
was the first step for the overall deployment of video and
broadband services. Planning has begun for the strategic location
of its wireless transmitters. The company already has a tower and
television broadcast equipment located on Green Peak. John Conley,
VP of Broadband Services at Corridor stated, "Eagar is another
great location for us, now with the extension of the Cable
Franchise agreement we have already begun the planning for our full
scale broadband services. The wireless overlay we will be providing
Eagar will allow the local residents and businesses broadband
access anywhere in town. The larger opportunity will come from the
rural market as our wireless footprint will cover a much larger
area than just the City. We recently added Voice Over Internet
(VOIP) to the services and when our broadband installations are
complete all of Eagar will have a competitive telephony
alternative." About Corridor Communications Headquartered in Mesa,
Arizona with operations in Oregon, Nevada and Arizona, Corridor
Communications, Inc. is an integrated wireless Internet service
provider (WISP) and Cable television provider offering high-speed
Internet, free and pay television, and data services to residents
and businesses. The Company plans to implement a
growth-through-acquisition strategy by targeting small- to mid-size
Cable providers and Dial Up Internet Service Providers (ISP) in
areas underserved by current broadband multi system operators. The
growth strategy will also focus on creating partnerships with
existing hot spot management companies while building company owned
hotspots to create ubiquitous coverage or "Hot Zones" that
encompass entire cities. Corridor's IP-Based technology supports
all hardware meeting Wi-Fi 802.11(x) standards operating in an
unlicensed spread spectrums (2.4 GHz and 5.7 GHz), and can be
deployed far less expensively than comparable copper and cable
