This successful treatment of contaminated water opens a new door for the company�s products in the multi-billion dollar water remediation and reclamation industry. Planet Resource Recovery, Inc. has been dedicated to the treatment of hydrocarbons and oil for recovery in applications including: oil well treatment and stimulation, environmental remediation, waste oil treatment, tank bottom cleaning, emulsion breaking and general applications requiring cost-effective, environmentally friendly methods of breaking hydrocarbon bonds from other materials for enhancement and recovery. Recognizing the growing demand from the oil & gas industry for the treatment of waste water streams associated in oil production due to increasing environmental standards, Planet Resource devoted its R&D resources to develop a water treatment product that targets the isolation and separation of oil, heavy metals and other undesirable adulterates from water. Utilizing the same concepts in the development of PetroLuxus� that separate water, heavy metals and other solids from oil by initiation of an ionic exchange mechanism on a nano scale to penetrate even the smallest particle, this new water base product is designed to remove entrained oil, suspended metals and other adulterates from water. Planet Resource began the development of a water treatment product at the request of an international oil company burdened with the handling and treatment of barium ladened water during its oil production. This prospective client is faced with having to treat in excess of 60,000 barrels per day of barium contaminated waste water. Multiple independent tests have confirmed that the new product dramatically reduces the barium level in water from over 46 ppm to less than 5 ppm. Treatment with this new product is simple, requires no heat, can be applied in current processes resulting in flocculated barium for simple separation. Current chemical treatment processes are limited and can only effectively reduce the barium level by fifty percent. The company�s R&D resources will continue to study, test and development other cost-effective, environmentally-friendly products for the treatment contaminants in water waste streams.
