TrendSetter Solar Products (Pink Sheets: TSSP) today announced that the Company has successfully completed a contract for the sale of solar hot water heating equipment to a commercial project in San Diego, California. The commercial one hundred forty-nine unit apartment complex is being retrofitted with the TrendSetter hot water heating systems as part of the California Solar Initiative pilot program being implemented by the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE). On this contract, TrendSetter�s systems are the first to be approved for rebates for a commercial project in the state of California, and will be used as a case study for future projects as the State decides how to issue rebate for both the CSI and the recent approved Assembly Bill 1470, The Solar Water and Heating Efficiency Act (AB 1470 - Huffman) authored by Assembly member Jared Huffman. AB 1470 will put $250 million into rebates for solar hot water over a ten year period starting after the pilot program is completed and the results have yielded a working plan. The value of this equipment only contract is $147,800.00 and will entitle the owner to approximately $31,500.00 in rebates and approximately $63,000.00 in Federal Tax Credits after installation costs are added of approximately $95,000.00. The California Solar Initiative (CSI) has authorized $1,500,000 for the Solar Water Heating Pilot Program (SWHPP) which is intended set the guidelines for future benefits to California residents and businesses who wish to add solar water heating to their buildings. The pilot program currently is providing incentives to business and customers who install qualifying solar water heating systems in San Diego, California.
