ALPHA Airports Group Plc is pleased to announce that, with effect from to-day's
date, Graham Frost has been appointed to the board of the company and that he
will succeed Rodney Galpin as Chairman following the Annual General Meeting to
be held on Thursday, 30th May.
Graham Frost, 54, has a wide range of experience. He is a graduate of
Birmingham University where he obtained a Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree and
joined British Gas West Midlands in 1970 where he held a number of Sales and
Marketing posts and in 1987 became Deputy Secretary.
In 1988 he joined Grattan plc- the home shopping Group - to become General
Manager of Callscan Ltd and then Managing Director of Cashwise International
Ltd, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Grattan. Group responsibilities
thereafter were as Customer Services Director and Logistics Director. In 1993
he was appointed Group Managing Director which post he held until 1997.
He then joined GUS plc and became Chief Executive of Argos plc following its
acquisition by GUS in 1998. In February 2000 he was appointed Executive
Chairman of First Quench Retailing Ltd - the 2600 branch Off Licence chain -
which he subsequently sold to the Principal Finance Group of Nomura plc.
He is currently Non Executive Chairman of Christy Home Textiles Ltd, Non
Executive Deputy Chairman of Monsoon plc and a Non Executive Director of Saville
Gordon Estates plc.
Commenting, Rodney Galpin said
"I am delighted that Graham has agreed to join the Board of Alpha and to succeed
me as Chairman at the end of May. He will bring a wealth of relevant experience
to the Company and, after over eight years in office, it is good to know that I
shall be passing the Chairmanship into such capable hands."
