    Notification of Interest in Shares under Section 198 Companies Act 1985


Brammer plc was notified, on 15th September 2005, by Essex County Council
Pension Fund is a limited partner in the UK Smaller Companies Focus Fund. As a
limited partner the Essex County Council Pension Fund has the following
interests in the ordinary 20p shares of the Company as at 14th September 2005:

In addition to the above, the Essex County Council Pension Fund also invests in

Investment Management (L&G). The current value of the UK Equity Index is #156m
of which Brammer PLC constitutes 0.006% (approx #9500) and the current value of
the UK Smaller Companies Index is #7.7m of which Brammer PLC constitutes 0.178%
(approx #13,900. The underlying shares in this pooled vehicle are in the name of
L&G's custodian, HSBC.
