Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") received notice on 27 July 2005 on behalf of
Prudential plc in accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended)
that Prudential plc, which includes the interest of M&G Group Limited, M&G
Investment Management Limited, M&G Limited and Prudential Assurance Company
Limited, has a notifiable interest in 27,366,805 ordinary shares of 25p each in
Chloride ("shares"), being 11.00% of the issued ordinary share capital of
Chloride.



The previous position advised by Prudential plc was on 22 July 2005, when a
notifiable interest in 27,595,305 (11.09%) shares was disclosed.
