Chapelthorpe Plc announces that it has today been informed by letter dated
1 September 2000 from Prudential Plc that in compliance with Part VI of the
above Act, as amended, as a result of recent purchases, the interest of
Prudential Plc, in the ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company is now
7,647,092 representing 3.74% of the issued ordinary share capital.
