Carisbrooke announces that it was today informed that Mr Willem Wester,
Managing Director, purchased 300,000 shares in the Company on 20 March 1998 at
a price of 45p per share.  Mr Wester is now deemed to be interested in
1,840,300 shares in the Company, representing approximately 18.15% of the
entire issued ordinary share capital.
