                       Trading Statement
                               
Eclipse  Blinds plc held its annual general meeting today  and
Hamish Grossart, Chairman commented:

"I  am  pleased  to report Eclipse has had a strong  start  to
1998.   Sales  in  the first four months  of  this  year  from
continuing activities were up over 8% on 1997.

Business in the groups two principal markets - the UK and the
US  -  has  been  comfortably  up  to  expectation,  and  with
important  new  products being launched in both  markets  this
year we are optimistic about the remainder of 1998.

In  Europe,  sales and operating results have been boosted  by
the  inclusion of OPM in Sweden which was acquired in  October
of last year.  Trading at OPM in the first four months of 1998
has been excellent.

The   Group  will  also  benefit  from  substantially  reduced
interest  costs  in 1998 following the virtual elimination  of
debt last year.

Eclipse  is  firmly focused on clear objectives in  our  three
theatres of operation - the UK, the US and Europe - and with a
full  product launch programme, we remain confident that  1998
will show Eclipse continuing its excellent record of growth."
