HIDEFIELD GOLD PLC
26 METRE INTERSECTION GRADING 12.05 G/T GOLD REPORTED IN
DRILL HOLE AT EAST SANTA CRUZ, ARGENTINA
Hidefield Gold plc ("Hidefield" or the "Company") (AIM : HIF) is pleased to
report that significant gold mineralization has been intercepted in recent core
holes testing the Coyote Sur and Coyote Norte vein systems in the Martinetas
sector of the East Santa Cruz project, Argentina. Detailed drilling results are
set out in the Appendix to this announcement.
Highlights of these results include a thick interval of multiple veining
averaging 12.05 grammes per tonne ("g/t") gold (5.34 g/t gold with high grade
values cut to 34.3 g/t gold) across 26.0 metres in CYN-D06-06 at Coyote Sur and
2.4 metres grading 17.42 g/t gold (13.53 g/t gold with high grade values cut to
34.3 g/t gold) in CYN-D06-13 at Coyote Norte.
The Coyote Sur vein system was tested in the recent drilling programme by seven
core holes numbered CYS-D06-04 to 10 totalling 702 metres, for a strike length
of 110 metres and vertical depth of 100 metres. Significant gold mineralization
occurs within a steeply west plunging zone of multiple quartz veining
comprising a "lens-like" body with a strike length of about 75 metres, plunge
length of 100 metres, and true thickness up to 17.5 metres in CYS-D06-06. This
zone remains open at depth and along strike to the east. Detailed drilling
results are set out in the Appendix to this announcement.
Eleven additional core holes, CYN-D06-08 to 18 totalling 1334 metres, were also
completed on the Coyote Norte vein which has now been tested for about half its
exposed 600 metre surface strike length. Significant gold mineralization occurs
in two west plunging bodies with strike lengths of 50 to 75 metres and plunge
lengths of up to 100 metres. Both are delimited along strike but open down
plunge at depth. Detailed drilling results are set out in the Appendix to this
announcement.
Full assay results of Coyote Norte and Coyote Sur drilling to date, and surface
plans and longitudinal projections of the veins may be viewed on the Company's
website. Results from eleven core holes on the Cerro Oro multiple vein system
and five initial holes on the Calafate vein at Martinetas are continuing to be
received and reviewed by the Company.
All elements of the economic scoping study for East Santa Cruz, including an
initial resource estimate, are continuing to be carried out by Independent
Engineers of Perth, Australia. The study is now expected to be completed by the
end of the second quarter of 2007.
The East Santa Cruz gold project includes thirty three exploration and
development licences, totalling approximately 203,000 hectares, and freehold
ownership of three ranches comprising about 69,000 hectares covering the
principal La Paloma, Martinetas and Microonda mineralized areas. The licences
contain extensive epithermal gold vein systems with a collective strike length
of more than 100km of which only about 2km has so far been explored in the
Company's recently completed two phased drill programmes at La Paloma and
Martinetas.
Hidefield Chairman Ken Judge said, "We continue to receive excellent drill
results from our recently completed drilling programme. These results, together
with the infrastructure already in place at our project in East Santa Cruz,
provide us with great encouragement for our pre-feasibility study which is
currently underway and our overall ambitions to establish a mining operation on
these properties as soon as possible".
Hidefield will be presenting at the Minesite Mining Forum on 17th April 2007
and a copy of the presentation to be made at the Minesite Mining Forum will be
available for viewing on the Company's website.
John Prochnau BSc (Mining Engineering), MSc (Geology), and Hidefield's Chief
Executive Officer, has reviewed and approved the content of this announcement.
