| Heywood Williams Group PLC ("the Company") advises that in accordance | 
| with the FSA's Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules Sourcebook, it | 
| received notice on 16 October 2009 from Barclays PLC ("Barclays") on  | 
| behalf of Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd and Gerrard Investment Management | 
| Ltd advising that as a result of an acquisition of shares on 14       | 
| October 2009 Barclays now has an indirect interest in the voting      | 
| rights of 8,586,616 of the Company's ordinary shares. As a result     | 
| Barclays' holding has crossed the 10% threshold and represents 10.12% | 
| of the Company's issued share capital.                                |
