M&G High Income Investment Trust P.L.C. (HIT) announces that it has today been
informed by Mr F.C. Carr, chairman of HIT, of his purchase on 21 April of 9,370
Package Units on behalf of his wife and 9,170 Package Units on his own account.
The purchase price was 99p per Package Unit.

Mr Carr is now interested in a total of 73,905 Zero Dividend Preference Shares,
36,040 Income Shares and 46,040 Capital Shares representing less than 0.14% of
the respective share classes.
