Oriel Resources Plc (AIM:ORI, TSX:ORL) announces that on 1 June 2005 it received
a notification from Meditor Capital Management Limited ('Meditor') disclosing
that recent transactions in the ordinary shares of the Company on behalf of one
of their managed accounts resulted in the current position of 19,932,400
ordinary 1p shares registered in the name of Morstan Nominees Ltd. This holding
represents approximately 9.89% of the current issued ordinary share capital of
the Company.

Meditor manages a variety of investment portfolios on a discretionary basis.
Except as indicated above, neither Meditor nor (so far as it is aware) its
clients are parties to an agreement to which Section 204, Companies Act 1985
applies or to any agreement or arrangement relating to the exercise of any
rights conferred by holding the shares.
