    PREMIER HIGH INCOME TRUST PLC

The Company announces that on a poll held today at the Company's Extraordinary
General Meeting, the resolutions proposed to voluntarily wind-up the Company
and to appoint liquidators for this purpose were duly approved by shareholders.

As previously announced a Final Interim Dividend of 1.625p per Ordinary share
was today paid to the holders of Ordinary shares on the register as at 24 June
2005.

The Zero Dividend Preference shareholders will receive an estimated 159.00p per
Zero Dividend Preference share held, this is expected to be paid by 8 July
2005.
