German financial group Allianz SE (ALIZF, ALV.XE) is positioning top executives for a possible succession to Chief Executive Michael Diekmann, 57, who could leave his post in 2015, German daily Financial Times Deutschland reported Monday, citing people in the sector.

Chief Financial Officer Oliver Baete, 47, will swap jobs at the end of the year with Dieter Wemmer, 55, who now heads up the insurance business for Southern and Western Europe, the newspaper said.

The CEO of Allianz Deutschland AG, Markus Riess, also counts as a possible successor to Diekmann, the newspaper said.
