Allianz SE (ALV.XE) Thursday said its alternative investment arm
Allianz Capital Partners has bought three wind parks, thereby
raising the group's total investment in renewable energy from wind
and sunlight to above 1.6 billion euros ($2.1 billion).
MAIN FACTS:
-Allianz Capital Partners bought two wind parks in France and
one in Germany.
-In France, ACP bought the wind park "Fontfroide" in the
departement Herault and the "Bruyère Grand" project in the Cantal
department, both in southern France.
-The wind parks, which have a capacity of 23.5 Megawatts, were
bought from EDF Energies Nouvelles, a subsidiary of the Électricité
de France (EDF.FR).
-In Germany, ACP bought the Dahme project south of Berlin, from
the Spanish renewable energy producer Eolia Renovables. The wind
park has a capacity of 76.5 Megawatts.
-With a combined capacity of 100 Megawatts, the plants are
expected to generate sufficient energy to meet the needs of over
40,000 average European households.
-With the three new acquisitions and including the recently
announced Maevaara project in Sweden, Allianz has expanded its
renewable investment portfolio to 39 wind farms and seven solar
parks, with a combined electrical generation capacity of over 930
Megawatts and total investment in renewable energy above EUR1.6
billion.
