LONDON--3i Group PLC (III.LN), an international investor, said
Tuesday it has signed an agreement with existing co-shareholder,
Allianz Capital Partners, or ACP, to buy its 49% stake in
Scandlines for 165 million Euros, giving it 100% ownership.
MAIN FACTS:
-3i, and funds managed by 3i, will consequently become majority
shareholders.
-Scandlines is a ferry operator in the Baltic Sea.
-Closing of the transaction is expected to take place before the
year end.
-As part of 3i's acquisition of ACP's stake, the company has
successfully refinanced its current debt facilities into a new
EUR875 million package.
-3i shares at 1130 GMT down 5 pence, or 1.44%, at 370 pence
valuing the company at 3.65 billion pounds.
