                         APPOINTMENT OF A NEW DIRECTOR                         

 

 

London Scottish Bank plc has today appointed Alan Benzie as a non-executive
Director of the Company.

 

Alan, aged 56, has recently retired from KPMG, following a career spanning 35
years.  He was appointed a Partner in 1977 concentrating on audit and
insolvency.  During the first half of the 1980s, he initiated the formation of
a corporate finance practice in the North West.  In 1989 he was appointed
Office Managing Partner of the Manchester office.  In 1997 he was appointed
Chairman of the newly created Northern Business Area and was then appointed to
the UK Board in July 1998 and sat on the UK Remuneration Committee. 

 

Alan's experience includes audit, acquisition investigations, viability
studies, company monitoring, management buy-outs, company start-ups,
flotations, financing and receiverships.

 

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

implementation of our future strategic developments."

The Company can confirm that there are no relevant details to disclose in
respect of Mr Benzie under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of
