                     ("Tertiary Minerals" or "the Company")

Tertiary Minerals was advised on 16 May 2003 that RAB Capital Ltd ("RAB
Capital"), acting as investment manager, acquired an additional 700,000 ordinary
shares in the Company on 8 May 2003.

RAB Capital's notifiable interest in the issued share capital of Tertiary
Minerals is now 3,650,000 ordinary shares, representing 11.57 per cent. of the
issued share capital of the Company, split as follows:

- RAB Europe Fund: 3,140,000 ordinary shares

- RAB Europe Partners LP: 510,000 ordinary shares
