APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Board of Singer & Friedlander Group PLC is pleased to announce the
appointment of Dr. Sarah Rutherford as an independent non-executive director of
the Company with effect from 29th April 2003.


Dr. Rutherford (age 44) has considerable experience in the financial services
industry directly as a research analyst and also as a financial journalist for
leading publications, more recently she has undertaken research projects in
employment affairs.


There are no details requiring disclosure in relation to Dr. Rutherford under
paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the UKLA Listing Rules.
