Grom Social Enterprises, Inc. Announces Strategic Alliance with the Joint Commission on Interdenominational Relations
25 October 2023 - 11:30PM
Grom Social Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: GROM), a media,
technology, and entertainment company dedicated to family-friendly
programming, web filtering technology, and safe social media for
kids, today announced that it has entered into an advisory
agreement with the Joint Commission on Interdenominational
Relations (“JCIR”) to analyze, strengthen and achieve the highest
possible social impact by utilizing all metrics available for
values-based investors, including a biblically responsible
investing (“BRI”) impact score for the Company and its operations
on a best efforts basis. The agreement was announced today by Mr.
Darren Marks, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for GROM, and
Mr. Christopher Castillo, President for the JCIR.
Upon completion of the
initiative, GROM will be evaluated for a BRI impact score which is
based upon a scoring system that analyzes environmental, social,
and governance issues from a biblical perspective. It is widely
respected by values-based, social impact investors, organizations,
as well as consumers to ensure that organizations they support meet
and adhere to the standards of biblically responsible ideology and
values.
“We believe that
responsible companies should aspire to make the highest possible
positive impact on the world, and to the employees and customers
that it serves. In 2012, GROM embarked on a mission to create a
one-of-a-kind, safe social media platform for kids, one where
parents could rely upon us to help safeguard their children from
imminent internet dangers,” explains Marks. “In partnering with the
JCIR, we proudly aim to showcase our offerings, which organically
operate within biblically responsible standards.”
By engaging the JCIR,
GROM aims to demonstrate that its four operating subsidiaries,
which underscore family-friendly content and safety for children on
social and educational platforms, perform within prescribed social
impact goals and biblically responsible guidelines.
“Responsible and safe
social media options for children, their parents, and adults
wishing to maintain a high level of integrity and ethics is a big,
real-world problem and we are encouraged to see GROM working on a
suite of software and content related solutions to solve this
problem. The JCIR is advising GROM by evaluating and measuring its
suitability and readiness to embrace value, social impact and
biblically responsible investing practices. We firmly believe that
BRI is a corporate culture and its implementation in letter and
spirit is a significant competitive advantage when properly
deployed. We are encouraged and excited about working with GROM on
this journey,” said JCIR’s Senior Policy Advisor, Dr. Andre
Estevez.
The Company is further
committed to documenting, reinforcing and participating in specific
Corporate goals that include, but are not limited to: quality
education; gender equality; decent work and economic growth;
reduced inequalities; responsible consumption and production;
climate action; peace, justice and strong institutions, and
partnerships with other likeminded corporate citizens.
Marks added, “Our
commitment to the above ennunciated goals are another giant step
towards protecting the interests of our shareholders, partners,
customers, employees and their children.”
GROM believes that a
favorable BRI impact score has the potential to demonstrate the
Company’s commitment to these principles and thereby increase the
visibility, reach, and appeal of its broad products and services
portfolio.

About the Joint
Commission on Interdenominational RelationsThe JCIR is a
church (an association of churches) as defined by the New Testament
and recognized by Black’s Law Dictionary. As a church, the JCIR
seeks to fulfill the Great Commission, and equip parishioners to do
the same with a focus on transformational prayer, a New Testament
discipleship, and a heart for showing God’s love in everyday
practical ways. The JCIR strives to provide the Body of Christ with
the necessary tools, resources, and infrastructure to reach today’s
modern world, without losing sight of our biblical heritage. The
JCIR is a firm believer and proponent of doing God’s work, God’s
way. Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) is the epicenter of all
social impact endeavors that JCIR deploys; for the best laid out
plans that ignore or violate Biblical principles are doomed to
fail. JCIR, as a Bible-centered Church believes that there are
abundant opportunities for BRI and other social impact initiatives
to coexist and flourish; not least of which is the United Nation’s
Global Compact’s Ten Principles and United Nation’s General
Assembly’s Sustainable Development Goals.
