PR Newswire (US)
More Than 6,600 Customers, including First Horizon National
Corporation, Harcourt Inc., Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas
City and TSB Bank Select Company's Products and Services BEDFORD,
Mass., July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RSA Security Inc.
(NASDAQ:RSAS) today announced that a record amount of customers --
more than 6,600 in total, including approximately 900 new customers
-- selected its enterprise, consumer and data security solutions in
the second quarter of 2006. As of June 30, 2006, more than 21,000
organizations worldwide have selected the company's award-winning
line of solutions designed to effectively protect identities and
digital assets. New customers: An RSA Enterprise Solutions Division
customer selected several identity and access management products
from RSA Security: First Horizon National Corporation, a division
of First Tennessee Bank National Association, provides financial
services to individuals and business customers through hundreds of
offices located in more than 40 states. First Horizon made an
investment in RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication technology
and recently purchased RSA(R) Access Manager to provide its
relationship managers and brokers with both secure remote access
and managed web access to online resources. The firm also purchased
RSA(R) Federated Identity Manager with the intention of using it
internally. A new RSA Consumer Solutions Division customer,
Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, comments on its ability to
rapidly respond to online threats, thanks to RSA Security
technology: "We purchased RSA(R) FraudAction(SM) anti-phishing and
anti-pharming services from RSA Security; this technology
immediately became a tremendous asset to the credit union and our
membership, as part of our ongoing efforts to protect our customers
from online security threats," said Steve Ramey, Manager of
Information Technology, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, a
financial institution with $450 million assets serving a 13-county
community in the Tennessee Valley. "Not long after signing up with
RSA Security, our network experienced a phishing attack. We didn't
have to wait long for a resolution, as RSA Security worked to shut
down the phishing attack in less than an hour. This is the kind of
incident response rate we need to confidently offer secure online
services to our customers." Another new customer, Data Guard
Systems addresses its purchase of encryption technology -- intended
to protect data -- from the RSA Data Security Division: "We
recently purchased RSA BSAFE(R) Crypto-C Micro Edition technology
to enhance security measures for our CellularManager(R) application
and lock down the sensitive data on our servers using 256-bit
encryption. Since we are hosting sensitive consumer data within our
infrastructure, we wanted to make sure that no one could make use
of the data on our servers in the event of a network breach," said
Timothy Maliyil, President and CEO, Data Guard Systems, a leading
developer and marketer of online business management software.
"Data security is incredibly important to us, and I am confident
that our information is safe within the systems using the
encryption libraries from the RSA BSAFE solution." Additional
customer successes in the second quarter of 2006 include:
Enterprise Solutions New and existing customers selected a broad
range of two-factor authentication solutions, as well as web access
and federated identity management technology designed to protect
access to valuable online information. These customers include: *
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City built a self-service Web
portal in 2005 for members, healthcare providers and brokers to
quickly access insurance and personal health information and
implemented RSA Access Manager to protect the portal against
unauthorized access. "RSA Access Manager has helped us to securely
manage our online user population -- now totaling 300,000 -- as
well as promote compliance, integrate with systems such our Citrix
environment, and keep costs down with less phone support,"
according to Belinda Thompson, Senior Security Analyst, Blue Cross
and Blue Shield of Kansas City, the area's largest healthcare
provider with 900,000 members. "We have recently purchased
additional RSA Access Manager software to continue to protect our
most sensitive assets -- our customer's private health data. We
also continue to use RSA SecurID tokens for our off-site employees
for secure and convenient remote access to the company intranet
from home or while traveling." * Harcourt Inc.: "We have made an
additional investment in RSA SecurID two-factor authentication
technology to provide employees with secure remote access to our
enterprise network through our Nortel VPN to help protect the
company's valuable intellectual property," said Blake Logan,
Information Technology Risk Officer at Harcourt Inc., a leading
educational materials publisher and service provider serving
schools, teachers and students around the globe. "RSA Security is
helping Harcourt by eliminating static, insecure passwords and
allowing us to safely partner with third parties outside the
traditional 'perimeter' of our network." * HealthWyse is a
privately-owned software and services company dedicated to the home
care and hospice market. In the second quarter of 2006, HealthWyse
selected RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology in order
to provide stronger security for the company's integrated clinical
and financial application, which customer agencies use to operate
their businesses. RSA SecurID technology -- delivered via an
application service provider (ASP) model -- is integrated into the
CallWyse telephony solution, which provides an efficient means of
documentation and location verification for home care aides,
clinicians, volunteers and clergy. * Riemer & Braunstein is a
Boston-based law firm that specializes in meeting the needs of
financial institutions, individuals, and corporations and
businesses of all sizes. In the second quarter of 2006, Riemer
& Braunstein selected the RSA SecurID Appliance, as the firm
migrates away from an ActivIdentity(R) solution. Riemer &
Braunstein expects to leverage the appliance with both RSA SecurID
Tokens for Blackberry(TM) Handhelds, as well as RSA SecurID
hardware tokens. RSA SecurID technology integration with a broad
range of third-party solutions was a core benefit which led Riemer
& Braunstein to select the RSA Security solution. * The Golden
Empire Association of Realtors(R) in California selected RSA
SecurID technology, as part of the Rapattoni Secure Logon service,
to provide stronger security for its multiple listing service
(MLS). The Bakersfield Association of Realtors(R) recognized the
importance of strongly protecting private real estate data, and
selected the integrated solution from RSA Security and Rapattoni
Corporation to help ensure that only authorized members are able to
access its MLS database. The rollout of the system is planned for
this summer. * William Blair & Company: "We purchased the RSA
SecurID for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) solution as a replacement for
simple password security to the corporate network. Password-only
security was complicated to manage and presented security risks,
and so we needed a solution to not only increase security, but to
also simplify the process and create a consistent user login
experience," said Chris Rogers, William Blair & Company, a
Chicago-based investment firm offering investment banking, asset
management, equity research, institutional and private brokerage
services. "We are planning to use the RSA SecurID for Microsoft
Windows solution for all 900 employees, installed on all desktops
within the firm, and on all laptops used to access the network
through our Citrix(R)-based environment." Consumer Solutions New
and existing customers selected anti-fraud, anti-phishing and
adaptive authentication solutions to secure online banking
environments. These customers include: * Eglin Federal Credit
Union, a $940 million credit union with 106,000 members, deployed
the RSA FraudAction anti-phishing and anti-pharming service to
minimize their members' exposure to fraud and online attacks.
"Having a reputable company provide 24x7 monitoring and shutdown
services globally was critical to our selection of RSA Security as
a technology partner," remarked Jerry Williams, Chief Information
Officer, Eglin Federal Credit Union. * Mid America Bank, a
subsidiary of MAF Bancorp, headquartered in Illinois with total
assets of approximately $11.5 billion, operates a network of 82
banking offices throughout Chicago and Milwaukee and surrounding
areas. Mid America Bank has deployed the RSA FraudAction
anti-phishing and anti-pharming service. "The RSA FraudAction
anti-fraud solution is an important and valuable addition to Mid
America Bank's information security program," remarked Patrick
Armand, Mid America Bank's Information Security Officer. "RSA
FraudAction service and our upcoming RSA Security multi-factor
authentication solution will help protect our customers'
confidential information and allow us to prevent, detect, and
disrupt fraudulent online activities." * TSB Bank, 100% New Zealand
owned and rated New Zealand's Best Bank for the past six years, has
chosen RSA SecurID two-factor authentication to help make its
Internet banking secure. The provision of TSB Bank branded RSA
SecurID tokens to its customers continues a tradition of technology
leadership and further enhances the level of protection TSB Bank
provides its customers. Data Security Solutions RSA Security
customers who selected data security solutions to protect
invaluable assets with encryption technology include: * NetManage,
Inc., a software company that provides solutions for integrating,
Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, recently
purchased RSA BSAFE SSL-C Micro Edition and RSA BSAFE SSL-J Micro
Edition software to provide additional encryption capabilities and
FIPS 140-2 compliance within its terminal emulation and file
transfer software products. * SupplyScape, inventor of E-Pedigree
software used to secure pharmaceuticals from counterfeiting and
diversion, has made a further investment in the RSA BSAFE Crypto-J
developer tools. By leveraging the E-Pedigree document
authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation provided by FIPS
validated crypto functions, pharmaceutical companies, drug
wholesalers and pharmacies increase patient safety by certifying
each step in the supply chain as the drugs move from the
manufacturer to the pharmacy shelf. "With a record-breaking number
of sales worldwide during the past quarter, RSA Security has proven
itself to be a strong leader in providing information security
solutions to help secure remote access to networks, protect
critical data and secure the identities of millions of business
users and consumers worldwide," said John Worrall, senior vice
president of marketing at RSA Security. "In addition to new
customers who have made purchasing decisions based on our
innovative technology, our existing customers continue to reinvest
and layer on new solutions as a testament to the value and added
security we have been bringing to their organizations." About RSA
