Buckingham and Greenway join list selected by Automotive News VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Visteon Corporation (NYSE:VC) leaders were honored Wednesday night for being among the automotive industry's 100 leading women. Visteon's Lorie Buckingham, senior vice president, global services group and chief information officer; and Joy Greenway, vice president of climate products, were named among 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry recognizes women who are leaders in the automotive field -- those who make major decisions and have significant influence at their companies. Automotive News published its first listing of the industry's top female executives in September 2000. Buckingham and Greenway, who were nominated and selected based on their talents and career accomplishments, were featured in a special Sept. 26 issue of the publication and honored at a gala dinner at the Marriott Renaissance hotel in Detroit, Michigan, sponsored by Automotive News. Buckingham is responsible for all information technology and oversees the company's new Visteon Services organization. Buckingham, who also is a corporate officer, joined Visteon in 2001 as director of global software solutions. She became vice president and chief information officer in 2002 and was named a senior vice president in 2004. Her extensive knowledge of enterprise business processes and enabling solutions has been perfected both with start-up and mature companies. Buckingham has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry from the State University of New York. In 2004, Buckingham was named a winner of the "Top Michigan Women in Computing." The award, given by the Association for Women in Computing - Ann Arbor Chapter (AWC-AA), recognized Buckingham and nine other winners as being "the best and brightest among the many outstanding Michigan women in IT." Greenway, who joined Visteon in 2000, has global responsibility for core engineering, manufacturing, program launches, quality, program purchasing and business planning for climate control products. Previously, she was director, powertrain, responsible for product development and product strategies for Visteon's global powertrain business. While in this position, Greenway played a key role in Visteon's recognition as a PACE award recipient for its Long Life Filtration System, which makes it possible for vehicles to use the same air filter for up to 150,000 miles. Greenway has more than 20 years experience in industrial production, product development and quality management with such companies as GE Aerospace, Martin Marietta Corp., GE Industrial Power Systems and United Technologies Corp. She earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering, as well as a master's degree in business administration. "Lorie and Joy are tremendous assets to Visteon and their recognition is well deserved," said Visteon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Johnston. "Both of these women have a strong commitment to performance which has elevated the achievements within their areas of responsibility." The 2005 class of Automotive News' 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry emerged from a months-long nomination and judging process that attracted hundreds of entries from the United States, Canada and Mexico. Women recognized with this honor are engaged in all aspects of the industry. "In all the automotive disciplines, women are steadily winning increased authority, and that's good not only for the women but for the auto industry," said Peter Brown, Automotive News associate publisher and editorial director.
