Visteon Combo Condenser Oil Cooler Reduces Weight and Improves Packaging DEARBORN, Mich., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Visteon Corporation has developed the next generation of its first-to-market integrated aluminum condenser and transmission oil cooler that cools the passenger compartment more efficiently, reduces weight, opens up packaging space under the hood and meets all End-of-Life-Vehicle Directive (ELVD) requirements. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) The Visteon Combo Condenser Oil Cooler can be used in most cars and light- duty trucks with automatic transmissions and air conditioning. It features an all-aluminum heat exchanger that delivers the functionality of a transmission oil cooler, or a power steering oil cooler, combined with a high capacity condenser. The integration of these two technologies offers superior performance to Visteon's customers. A condenser converts refrigerant vapor into a liquid, which the evaporator core uses to cool the passenger compartment. Combining the condenser with the oil cooler into an integrated single plane reduces both mass and weight, and requires less space under the hood. A series of high-performance condenser tubes also enables the module to cool the passenger compartment faster with less refrigerant charge. "The Combo Condenser Oil Cooler is another innovative product that demonstrates Visteon's expertise at integrating multiple components into a system that saves space, reduces weight and delivers more value to our customers," said Wolfgang Schramm, global director of Visteon's Climate Control Product Line Team. Since its June 2000 spin-off from Ford Motor Co., Visteon has introduced more than 50 first-to-market products offering innovation and value to its customers. Visteon Corporation is a leading full-service supplier that delivers consumer-driven technology solutions to automotive manufacturers worldwide and through multiple channels within the global automotive aftermarket.
