Here are some of the companies with shares expected to trade
actively in Friday's session. Stock movements noted by ticker
reflect movements during regular trading hours; premarket trading
is specified separately.
Facebook Inc. -- Up 0.6% premarket: Facebook is recruiting
dozens of financial firms and online merchants to help launch a
cryptocurrency-based payments system on the back of its social
network.
Expedia Group Inc. -- Down 3.4% premarket: The online travel
company said quarterly sales grew less than expected.
CBS Corp. -- Up 0.2% premarket: The broadcaster posted a
smaller-than-expected increase in quarterly sales, though profits
narrowly topped estimates.
Activision Blizzard Inc. -- Down 4.1% premarket: The videogame
company said monthly active users fell nearly 8% in the first
quarter from a year earlier.
Altice USA Inc. -- Down 1% premarket: The New York cable
television and broadband provider reported a wider-than-expected
loss for the first quarter.
U.S. Steel Corp. -- Up 4.6% premarket: The steel company said
net sales rose to $3.5 billion in the first quarter from $3.15
billion a year earlier, surpassing analyst targets.
Herbalife Nutrition Ltd. -- Down 5.6% premarket: The nutrition
company cut its financial projections, citing a slowdown in
China.
Newell Brands Inc. -- Up 3.1% premarket: Newell Brands swung to
a loss and met sales expectations in its latest quarter as the
consumer-products conglomerate continues its search for its next
CEO amid weak results.
Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. -- Up 3.6% premarket: TV-station
giant Sinclair Broadcast Group has struck a deal valued at more
than $10 billion to acquire 21 regional sports networks from Walt
Disney Co., The Wall Street Journal reported.
Vistra Energy Corp. -- Up 1.7% premarket: Vistra Energy reported
a profit in the first quarter as its operating revenues increased
by more than three times what they were for the comparable quarter
a year earlier.
American Tower Corp. -- Unchanged premarket: The company's net
income in the first quarter rose as the company reported a drop in
operating expenses and increased operating revenue.
Dominion Energy Inc. -- Down 1.4% premarket: The Richmond, Va.
company said its businesses were hurt by unusually mild weather in
Virginia and South Carolina in its latest quarter.
Marriott International Inc. -- Down 0.7% premarket: Marriott
said the hotelier's chief executive was diagnosed earlier this week
with pancreatic cancer and will undergo chemotherapy.
Dish Network Corp. -- Down 1.2% premarket: The company said
profit fell 7.6% for the first quarter as it reported slightly
lower subscriber-related revenue and higher expenses.
