Tax-Managed Diversified Equity Income Fund (NYSE: ETY) (the
"Fund"), a diversified, closed-end management investment company,
today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months ended
January 31, 2012. The Fund's fiscal
year ends on October 31, 2012.
For the three months ended January 31,
2012, the Fund had net investment income of $4,085,494 ($0.027
per share). In comparison, for the three months ended January 31, 2011, the Fund had net investment
income of $2,530,546 ($0.017 per share).
Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended
January 31, 2012 were $65,994,921 ($0.433
per share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized gains for
the three months ended January 31,
2011 were $81,050,608

On January 31, 2012, net assets of

asset value per share on January 31,
