Municipal Mortgage & Equity, LLC (NYSE:MMA), announced today that it will restate its previously filed consolidated financial statements for the three month period ended March 31, 2006 as well as for the years ended December 31, 2005, 2004, and 2003. The restatement will not impact cash available for distribution, a supplemental non-GAAP performance measure reported by the Company in addition to net earnings, in any period, or the Company's ability to pay future distributions to common shareholders. In connection with previously announced efforts to improve its financial reporting processes, the Company identified the need to record adjustments for errors related primarily to three main areas: accounting for syndication fees, accounting for equity commitments related to affordable housing projects and the classification of cash received from investors in guaranteed tax credit equity funds. These items are more fully discussed in a Form 8-K that was filed by the Company today. As a result of the efforts described above, the Company does not expect to file its Form 10-Q for the quarterly period ended September 30, 2006 within the required timeframe. As previously announced, the Company intends to host a conference call to discuss its financial results for the first half of 2006 and its outlook for the future subsequent to the filing of its report for the quarterly period ended June 30, 2006. The Company is working toward filing its Form 10-Q for the quarterly period ended June 30, 2006 as soon as possible. Also today, the Company reaffirmed its performance objectives for 2006 in light of the fact that it has not hosted a conference call to discuss financial results since April 12, 2006.
