LONDON--Commodities trading giant Trafigura Beheer B.V. said
Friday it has acquired China National Offshore Oil Corp.'s business
trading crude oil for other energy producers in Canada.
The business was acquired from Nexen Marketing, a Calgary,
Alberta-based unit of CNOOC, for an undisclosed sum.
"We have a proven track record of providing Canadian producers
with competitive pricing and high levels of operational expertise
and technical support, backed by our strong balance sheet," said
Iain Singer, head of Trafigura Canada.
The acquisition will make Trafigura one of the largest
third-party crude oil traders in Canada, the company said.
