Napa, El Dorado, Mendocino and Sonoma counties
select SoftCode to automate civil process procedures
SoftCode™, the complete civil process software suite from Tyler
Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL), continues to expand its presence in
California since being acquired by Tyler in September 2014. Several
California counties, including Napa, El Dorado, Mendocino and
Sonoma, have recently signed contracts to implement SoftCode
solutions such as CivilServe™ and CivilMobile™ to automate and
streamline services within law enforcement divisions.
As part of Tyler courts and justice solutions, SoftCode offers
comprehensive and flexible capabilities that enable civil
departments to execute civil processing more effectively and
efficiently, saving valuable time and resources. With its intuitive
and configurable foundation, SoftCode operates on a case-based
system rather than a forms-based system, which virtually eliminates
duplicate data entry while at the same time enabling and ensuring
accuracy with a true double-entry accounting system process.
“We have recently started using SoftCode CivilServe and find
their new wizard-based software much easier to use than our old
system,” said Lindsey Apo with Napa County’s Civil Process
Department. “Tyler has done a great job of customizing
CivilServe for California statutes and they have provided the
flexibility to make additional adjustments needed just for our
agency.”
CivilServe allows staff to track documents from the court to
service attempts and final execution payments, automating a process
that can be complex and multi-faceted. With the speed, security,
and performance to handle high-volume data entry, CivilServe offers
swift and accurate records retrieval while reducing staff time
usually spent on labor-intensive projects such as reconciling
financials and creating correspondence.
As more civil departments utilize mobile devices in their daily
work, CivilMobile helps make deputies more efficient by equipping
them with technology that is easily used in the field to update
service information and quickly access additional case information.
CivilMobile is synchronized with CivilServe so that information
entered in the field is immediately available to clerks in the
civil office, which helps to reduce errors and avoid duplication of
staff effort.
“Creating SoftCode wizards for California has allowed us to
provide the specialized functionality needed to reduce manual
processes, while building on our proven case management and
double-entry accounting foundation,” said Steve Magoun, vice
president of Tyler’s SoftCode solution. “SoftCode continues to be
the market leader and we look forward to working with California
courts to aid civil process efficiencies.”
The suite of SoftCode solutions currently communicates with
Tyler’s Munis® ERP solution, which provides a centralized and
automated financial management system. Tyler is also working to
integrate SoftCode with its Odyssey® suite of courts and justice
solutions to further streamline and automate civil department and
court procedures.
As with all Tyler solutions, SoftCode clients benefit from
Tyler’s evergreen perpetual licensing approach that provides
regular and significant, yet manageable, software enhancements
without an additional relicensing or service fee, ensuring all
systems are using the latest technology. SoftCode clients also
benefit from a Tyler implementation team that is experienced in
converting data from legacy systems, like the Sirron Civil
Administration system, and managing the implementation process
during all phases to be on time and on budget.
