                                BOARD CHANGES

Further to the sale of Convergent Systems announced on 15 April 2003, the Board
of Convergent Communications plc (the "Company") announces that John Conoley,
Managing Director of Convergent Systems, has resigned as a director of the
Company with effect from 15 April 2003.

With the Group structure now simplified, the Board has reviewed the structure of
the Group finance function. In the light of this review, Simon Barrick, Group
Finance Director, is leaving the company to pursue fresh challenges and will
resign as a director with effect from 1 May 2003. For the time being, the
Finance Director's duties will be undertaken by Robert Reah, Group Financial
Controller and an external interim manager.

The Board wishes to thank Simon and John for their contributions to the Group.
Simon has successfully managed the Group's finances through an extremely
difficult period of trading. John has led Convergent Systems through a period of
recovery and has made a significant contribution to the successful sale of that
business.
