On 4 November 2003 the Company announced that it had been deemed by the Takeover
Panel to have entered a bid period.  Whilst preliminary discussions have been
held with a number of parties during the last few months, none of these
discussions have been substantive and they have now come to an end.



The Company can now confirm that, following the management changes previously
announced and the decision to focus on GoshawK Re, its specialist Bermuda-based
reinsurance business, the strategic review initiated by the Company in July has
concluded.
