Software AG’s Dave Brooks Named 2012 “Pro to Know” By Supply & Demand Chain Executive

Business Wire
Software AG today announced that Dave Brooks, Senior Director
of Strategic Business Solutions, has been named a 2012 Pro to Know
by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine. The Pros to Know
is a recognition of thought leaders who have helped shape the
supply chain industry by developing the tools, processes and
knowledge base necessary for supply chain transformation.
Brooks leads the supply chain practice at Software AG in the USA
where he works with the company’s largest manufacturing, retail and
logistics customers. He was selected a “Pro to Know” because of his
understanding of the client’s need for supply chain visibility,
control and agility in an age of increasing globalization. Brooks
specializes in helping organizations create a ‘path to agility’,
which allows them to use supply chain as a function to better align
with their company’s broader corporate strategy.
The ‘path to agility’ is the ability to take advantage of
opportunities in the marketplace, respond to competitive threats
and deal with the natural disasters that increasingly impact global
supply chains.
An example of a ‘path to agility’ that Brooks helped an
organization achieve is a multi-billion dollar global Consumer
Packaged Goods company. This leading brand made the decision to
focus on its core business and outsource its paper-intensive
invoice processing to a notable systems integrator. By outsourcing
the process, the company gave away its visibility and control.
Soon, key suppliers threatened not to ship product because they
were not getting paid. With Brooks’ approach he was able to restore
visibility into the flow of transactions while providing KPIs to
measure, manage and track important metrics. This enabled quicker,
more accurate payment to suppliers.
“Software AG’s mission is to enable customer innovation through
the use of technology. Achieving that takes more than just
technology, it requires talented individuals with a deep
understanding of the business domain,” said Paul Orme-Smith,
President and CEO – North America and member of the Group Executive
Board, Software AG. “Dave is one such thought-leader and a true
visionary in the Supply Chain area. On behalf of Software AG I am
both proud and delighted that he has been recognized by Supply
& Demand Chain Executive magazine for his leadership in
developing the path to agility.”
