NEW YORK, May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix
Corporation (TSX-V: VZX, OTC:BB: VUZI, FMB: V7X), a leading
developer and supplier of smart glasses, today announced that it
has been working with Paul Brison,
Global Vice President Enterprise Operations Management from SAP, a
global provider of enterprise application software, to develop
cutting edge augmented reality (AR) applications for warehousing,
in field data collection and other mobile applications. Using
its award-winning M100 Smart Glasses, Vuzix will demonstrate the
capabilities at SAP's SAPPHIRE NOW event on May 15th in Orlando Florida.

There will be two different demonstrations of how Smart Glasses
can be integrated with the large installed base of enterprise
software systems to solve problems and create efficiencies for
enterprise level customers. The first demonstration will be a
real-time augmented reality warehouse "picking" application. The
second will be a real-time data and video collection from the
factory floor to remote sites.
Vuzix President and CEO Paul
Travers said, "This conference is a key gathering of
enterprise level decision makers who are looking for applications
that create operating efficiencies for their large organizations.
We are excited to demonstrate the power of our AR and our smart
glasses in helping enterprises further increase their operating
performance. There are thousands of applications that can use the
power of Vuzix smart glasses to fully enable AR solutions. Having
the ability to run applications resident in the glasses allows
real-time camera and screen updates creating instant augmentation
of the user's reality. Many customers need the ability to have
hands free, mobile access for collection of data and to remotely
work with their database in real time. Vuzix smart glasses do
a great job of facilitating these needs."
"For AR to be the most useful, all sensory input and computer
generated information needs to be processed in real-time. The only
way to do this effectively today is by running the applications
resident in the glasses. Since the M100 is an open system that does
not require an internet connection to run applications, the glasses
can be used in almost any environment from the middle of the woods
to a pipeline in Alaska," Travers
added.

About The Vuzix M100
The Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses are a hands free display peripheral
for your smartphone or direct network connection, they have a built
in color display driven by a powerful processing engine running the
Android OS, an integrated head tracker and GPS for spatial and
positional awareness. An integrated camera enables video recording,
still image capture and opens the potential for powerful augmented
reality applications. Having all this technology in a single
wearable display with an open software platform that works with
many already written Android apps, allows applications that are
running in the glasses to perform real-time processing like
augmented reality applications and since it's all resident there is
no requirement to connect to the Cloud to use them.
