A.P. Moeller-Maersk AS said Tuesday that it will integrate its Safmarine brand and its Damco brand's air and less-than-container load units into the company to enhance logistics and end-to-end services.

"Over time, the value propositions of Maersk and Safmarine have converged, as both brands have been focusing on building a customer-centric culture and as the digital interactions with customers have increased," the Danish shipping group said.

Similarly, Damco has shifted its focus to freight forwarding since 2018, the company added. "During this time, it has become apparent through close customer engagements that the value proposition of Maersk can be greatly enhanced with the expansion of multiple modes of transport," it said.

The Safmarine and Damco brands will no longer be marketed by the end of this year, Maersk said.
