Bayer sealed a multimillion dollar agreement with food-and-agriculture company Pairwise focusing on innovations in short-stature corn.

The German pharmaceutical and agricultural company said Tuesday that the five-year partnership is aimed at optimizing and enhancing gene-edited short-stature corn for future use.

Short-stature corn is a new approach to growing corn that offers sustainability benefits, including protections from crop loss as a result of severe weather events.
