DigitalTown With the NIAAA to Collaborate on a 60 High School Program With Its Community Domains

Safe Secure Email/Social Communications Will Be the Lead Design

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Jun 16, 2014) -  DigitalTown, Inc. (OTCQB: DGTW) today announced it has agreed with the NIAAA (The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association) on perpetual usage rights on a broad range of issues with its 22,000+ community domain portfolio.

As such, DigitalTown will work with the NIAAA on developing and launching a 60-high school program that will be the incubator for its 22,000+ community domain portfolio. The high schools will be NIAAA member schools with the selection process starting in July 2014 by the NIAAA.

Conditions for the high school to be selected are the current schools using Google Apps for its students or schools in the process of implementing Google Apps. Google Apps has now been the communication platform choice by 72 of the top 100 universities and colleges and is expecting to be the dominate platform for high schools in the near future. DigitalTown will retain the exclusive rights as the authorized Google reseller for the program.

DigitalTown will move its Trusted Webmail and Trusted Cell Phone programs that are currently with third party software vendors and will redesign them to be fully integrated with Google Apps and new features that tie into Facebook and Twitter.

Tragedies have been hitting US schools almost weekly since the Newtown tragedy. The NIAAA and DigitalTown are committed to building a secure communications platform for coaches, teachers, students and alumni, along with parental controls. This will include design studies to deal with massive underage email and social media communications that are not currently being addressed. Additional areas to be included in the new site designs are sports, clubs and alumni usage with community interaction.

The NIAAA and DigitalTown will jointly reach out to the major tech companies, Google, Facebook, Twitter and the major cell phone carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, for new technologies to help solve some of the problems in communications with today's youth and to work with the incubation launch.
